A Man Works from Sun to Sun

Ever since the advent of the steam engine in 1769, machines have made life increasingly easier for people. Now that we've entered the 21th century, most, if not all, of our chores have been taken over by machines. We should be enjoying a life of freedom and leisure, right?
On the contrary, everyone seems to be busier than ever. Using computers, PDAs, cell phones and other electronic gadgets often means being on constant call. Every minute counts. Multi-tasking is on the rise, and it's not unusual to see car drivers eating breakfast, putting on make up, setting up appointments or preparing for meetings on their way to the office each morning. Even when on vacation, people are busy checking email, surfing the Net, talking or sending IMs on their cell phones for fear of losing touch with the world. No wonder people's nerves are frazzled. Women, many of whom have to juggle the demands of both home and the workplace, are even more stressed out.
Three hundred years after the Industrial Revolution, little has changed. A man works from sun to sun; a woman's work is never done.
